The products we use, by name, with their APVMA registration numbers and where they go. Nobody else in this market publishes this, and you should be able to know what is going into your house before it goes in.
Safe around kids and pets: what that actually means
Every pest control company in Brisbane says “family and pet safe”. Very few say what they mean by it, and an unqualified claim that a treatment is “safe” or “non-toxic” is not one we are willing to make. Here is the specific version.
- Every product we apply is registered with the APVMA for the use we put it to, and is applied at label rate. Registration is a verifiable fact; “safe” is not.
- We select low-hazard formulations for occupied homes. Our standard internal residual is Seclira WSG (dinotefuran 400 g/kg, APVMA 83011), with Seclira Gel Cockroach Bait (dinotefuran 5 g/kg, APVMA 83034) placed on bait dots inside cupboards rather than sprayed across surfaces.
- Keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they are dry — typically 30 to 60 minutes for internal areas. Once dry, treated surfaces are fine for normal contact.
- Rodenticides go in lockable stations only, never loose. We use Selontra soft bait (colecalciferol 0.75 g/kg, APVMA 81767) in high-traffic internal areas, and where a second-generation product is genuinely warranted it is used strictly to label under the restricted-chemical rules that took effect in 2026.
- We will tell you what we applied, where, and at what rate, and the Safety Data Sheet for every product is available on request before we treat, not after.
What we will not tell you is that a treatment is chemical free, non-toxic, eco-friendly or one hundred per cent safe. If a pest control company uses a registered pesticide, none of those claims is true, and under Australian Consumer Law they are claims the business has to be able to substantiate.

Second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides became Restricted Chemical Products in Australia during 2026, and bifenthrin products are also restricted. That governs who may supply and apply them and under what conditions — which is one practical difference between a licensed operator and a hardware-store purchase. Where a restricted product is genuinely warranted we use it strictly to label; where it is not, we don’t.
How much actually gets applied
Less than most people imagine, and that is deliberate. A liquid job around a property never goes past 8 litres. Dust is never more than 100 grams. An aerosol application is a 15 to 30 second discharge. Label rates exist because more is not better — it is a breach, and it does not improve the result.
Before and after a treatment
Before
- Tell us about pregnancy, respiratory conditions, immune compromise, or anyone sensitive in the house — we plan the application around it.
- Tell us about pets, including fish, birds and reptiles. Aquariums need covering and air pumps switched off during internal work.
- Clear bench tops in the kitchen and move pet bowls and children’s toys off treated surfaces.
After
- Keep children and pets off treated surfaces until dry — typically 30 to 60 minutes internally. Once dry, normal contact is fine.
- Do not mop the treated bands along skirting boards for a few weeks. Washing off the residual is the most common reason a treatment underperforms.
- Do not spray over gel bait dots or bait stations.
- Expect more visible activity for a few days. That is the treatment working.
The claims we won’t make
We do not describe our treatments as chemical free, non-toxic, eco-friendly, environmentally friendly, or one hundred per cent safe. If a business applies a registered pesticide, none of those is accurate, and environmental and safety claims are a current ACCC compliance and enforcement priority. “APVMA registered, applied at label rate, safe for normal contact once dry” is a claim we can substantiate. “Safe” on its own is not.
